Specialisation: Sino-Swedish Master's Programme in Computer Science and Software Engineering
The Sino-Swedish specialisation offers one year of studies at National Taiwan Normal University, NTNU, Taiwan. You will have the opportunity to live in two cultures, and form close ties with two cities in different countries – which in turn will open doors in an international labour market. The programme includes courses in Computer Science based on the research specialisations of NTNU. There are also courses with a cultural content (such as languages or intercultural relationships). Successful students can obtain a dual grad with one master d

  • About the department

The Department of Information Technology conducts education and research in Computer Science and Information Technology. We cover a wide range of issues, from construction of computer systems, via programming of computers, storage and handling of data, to information retrieval and methods for applying computers in a variety of contexts. The activities are grouped into five themes: Computer Systems, Computing Science, Scientific Computing, Systems & Control and Visual Information & Interaction. Each of these themes is in itself a major subject area, where we conduct basic research and drive projects with links to applications in for example Engineering, Biology, Medicine, Economy and Psychology. The broad scientific foundation is reflected in a large number of collaborations across academic disciplines as well as with industry and the public sector.
In addition to research and education, the department is hosting the "Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing" (SNIC) that coordinates national resources for high-performance computing and data storage, distributed over local centra at six Swedish universities. In addition the departmen

    About the department

The department offers a wide range of single subject courses, as well as programmes for undergraduate and graduate studies. Offerings include both descriptive courses at the beginner level and specialist courses. Some courses are taught by distance learning, as web-based or as summer courses.

The department participates in all engineering programmes of Uppsala University - these are 5-year programmes that lead to a Masters degree. The programmes with the most notable IT content are Computer and Information Engineering, Sociotechnical Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics and Bioinformatics Engineering.

The programme in Computer Science is the main bachelor programme for our department; it offers a broad foundation in the subject. We also contribute significantly to the bachelor programmes in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering.

The department offers four master programmes. Large parts are based on projects and real-world problems, through our cooperation with leading Swedish companies as well as local companies and organizations.
